Description

Max Hare the veteran of two Walt Disney Silly Symphonies finds himself representing the 548th Bomb Squadron of the 385th Bombardment Group under the wing of the 8th Army Air Force. Flying B17's the squadron participated in the European Theatre of World War II Air Offensive, Europe July 1942 - May 1945 winning two Distinguished Unit Citations. This was one of several insignia that found their way into Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, this being in issue #40 for Jan. 1944. - Oddly other sources find Max Hare transformed into what looks more like Bugs Bunny. I'm sure this was do to the difficulty of trying to replicate the fine artwork of Hank Porter and greater familarity with Bugs.
