Description

Here is a piece for Mad Magazine by one of that magazine's most celebrated artists, Al Jaffee. Jaffee probably best known for his fold-ins and his Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions. He was with Mad almost from its beginning as a magazine and is still going strong as if this writing (May 3, 2009). He won a Reuben in 2008. His work outside Mad includes the strip Tall Tales. I am told he has published over 50 books. The red is a plastic overlay.

This joke is ironic in that Al never, as far as I know, drew an attractive woman, unless she was taken from real life. The pictures on the wall kind of look like abstracts of the characters in the foreground.
