Description

In Honor of the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend it seemed like the right time to post this one.

When I contacted Steve I thought it would be fun to have Captain America in a patriotic pose, with all the feeling and power of Kirby mixed in. I originally had a hard time deciding on a Cap trophy wall because, well, the Cap we know doesn't kill people, much less take trophies. So I threw the idea out there of having all the wanted posters behind Cap and have them marked captured, etc. etc. but I really left it up to Steve on how to lay it out and what to do.

I think he did a really nice job.. When you are dealing with the likes of Hate Monger, Ringmsater (nazi-fied), Yellow Claw, Baron von Zemo, Arnem Zola and Red Skull, you know they aren't taking any prisoners. So I say Cap got pushed into it, but in the end did what he had to do. ;-)

Thanks to Steve and Jaynelle.

Steve is great and this is a very nice example of his retro-Kirby style coupled with a terrific theme...great piece

Hmmm, it's beautifully put together, and the Kirby-esque style is magnificent, but I do have something of a hard time seeing Cap standing proudly in front of beheaded enemies like that.

As far as I am concerned, those are symbolic reproductions representing the villains that he's defeated. As for Hitler, clearly he's headed that way after the photo shoot. :)

Great idea Alex, it's like tha Beethoven Bust in stately Wayne manor...briilliant take on the piece.

Very nice Chris. I think Steve did a nice job of "Kirby'ing" it up.

My take on this piece is that this isn't Cap's pad. He's visiting some neo-con's office. Probably someone who had nothing to do with the apprehension of the criminals, but is nonetheless taking credit for it by mounting the trophies. Cap's salute doesn't necessarily signal approval...he's just polite.

Great addition to one of the more original themes on CAF. Steve never disappoints with his Cap pieces, and he sure went all out on this one. AWESOME.
