Description"Aztec Serpent" is one of the most widely published Boris paintings, and is often referred to as "Mayan Serpent".Painted in 1983 for the cover of "Clash of Star-Kings" by Avram Davidson, published by Ace. It was included in "Diva" by Boris Vallejo, published in France by Publicness-Zoom in 1983. Also used to advertise the 13th International Film Festival for Fantasy and Science Fiction in Paris in November 1983. Included in the "Worlds of Boris" role playing game, published by Mayfair Games in 1984. Featured as the centrepiece painting and back cover of the "1985 Boris Vallejo Fantasy Calendar" published by Workman. Approx size 26 x 17" Used for the cover of the german edition of "Die Sieben Altaere von Dusarra" (7 Altars of Dusarra) by Lawrence Watt-Evans, published by Wilhelm Heyne Verlag in 1987. Used for the cover of the Role Aids game manual "Monsters of the Myth and Legend II" for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, published by Mayfair Games in 1989. Boris was photographed in front of the painting for a lengthy artist profile in the Aug 22 1990 edition of the Allentown Tribune. The painting also appeared in "The Boris Vallejo Portfolio" published by Paper Tiger in 1994, "Paper Tiger Miniatures: Boris Vallejo" published by Paper Tiger in 1994, and "Dreams: The Art of Boris Vallejo" by Nigel Suckling published by Running Press in 2000, and "The Ultimate Collection" book by Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell published 2005 by Collins Design. It was included in the "Boris Vallejo Card Collection #1" published by Comic Images in 1991, and the "Best of Boris Card Collection" published c1995. It was also included in the "Boris Fantasy Art CD-ROM" published by Gazelle Technologies in 1992. It was also issued as a collectible postage stamp by Batum. Used for the cover of "The Best of Boris All Chromium", a portfolio of art cards and memorabilia, in a presentation binder, published in 1995 by Comic Images. Social/Sharing |
