Zephyr Jones was a square-jawed space adventurer in the Buck Rogers, Brick Bradford tradition. Zephyr's debut appearance had actually been in the second issue of Daring Mystery Comics, where he and his co-pilot Corky Grogan had discovered the lost planet of "Sunev", while attempting their rocket ship's maiden voyage to Mars. Their second effort to reach the red planet, in Mystic Comics # 1, also fails when Professor Reagan Lexico and his beautiful daughter, Tasi, stowaway on board the rocket ship and persuade Zephyr to travel instead to the star Cygni so they can collect "stardust" a miraculous substance that can cure all the illness in the world. As this second adventure was also his last, Zephyr never did get to Mars.
