Description

I was looking for a quality John Romita Sr. Spiderman piece for my collection and I think I finally found the right one. This one was done in the 1990's for Activision as part of their game box art. John pencilled and inked this directly onto the 11 x 17 bristol as opposed to his normal practice of drawing on vellum and pasting it onto the board.

I actually made arrangements in advance with Mike B. Since we were both going to be at SDCC 2009, we completed the transaction there.

Other than that, SDCC was low key as far as art purchases were concerned for me. The real reason I attend SDCC is to meet all my fellow collectors in person even if it's only for a few minutes. The show is becoming more and more over-crowded, over-booked and over-hyped, but for now it's still THE SHOW. I recommend attending SDCC at least once for the experience. If not at SDCC, I'll see you all in NY.
