Pagan Lee rehearsing... and the Mangler looms in the shadows. A classic image and the middle panel is gorgeous. What fluid lines and hand gestures. Sometimes, Raymond's Mangler reminds me of Gregory Peck from To Kill A Mockingbird. I wonder if he thought of him when he drew the character? An interesting thing you see on the original is that someone (Raymond? The syndicate editor?) titled each daily. On the back this says, "Shooting star due for eclipse," implying something bad was about to happen... and that is called the Mangler.
