Description
The second of two sequential Rip Kirby's. Here, Pagan sings a stormy torch song and admits to Rip how much she feels it... as the Mangler hides behind the fronds of a plant in the Wampum Room. Raymond's design is on overdrive with this daily... the distant shot of Kirby looking at Pagan at the microphone, then the close-up of the pensive Pagan... incredible! One of the cool things you see on the original is that someone (Raymond? The syndicate editor?) titled each daily. On the back this says, "His heart in his work," obviously implying how moved Kirby was by Pagan's song.

A great daily. The tie, dress and microphone complement each other. The posture and gestures raymond can capture are unsurpassed.
