Spider-Man-Wolverine-Cap by Kevin Huzienga

This was a funny sketch. At the Baltimore Comic-Con in 2008, I got to talking to Matt Kindt about my hometown, St. Louis, which is where he lives, and the comic scene that's really blossomed there in recent years. One of the artists we discussed was Kevin Huzienga, so when I approached him at the 2009 Small Press Expo (SPX), it was really just to talk about home a little bit. After chatting him up a minute or three, I asked if he'd want to do a sketch, and he opted for the Anything Marvel book, which is really not in his wheelhouse. He started doing a small Spider-Man head, and then he drew a small Wolverine head under that, followed by a guy with an A on his forehead that I realized he wanted to be Captain America, but he had no reference material and had just started a-drawing. He realized he'd done it wrong and called it a day on that sketch!
