DescriptionI have long wanted a Doug Wildey Rio page as I have fond memories of this brilliant Western series which I first encountered in the pages of Eclipse Monthly - now I have one! I'd love to know where all the Rio pages have gone because this is the only one in CAF and I know of only one other in another fan's collection.Social/Sharing |

I don't remember Doug Wildey's work though I read Eclipse Monthly, but I must say I've been impressed with the little bit I've seen thanks to the comicart-l Yahoo list. This page is a beautiful piece. Congrats and thanks for sharing it.

I haven't heard of this comic before. Now I feel I am missing something really good. This western page is AWESOME. Almost as good as Colin's! ;-)

I remember when this was collected into the graphic novel from Comico...one of the classiest packages of that era. Fantastic stuff, congrats Royd!

Congratulations Royd! Doug Wildey has always been a great western artist -- as far back as Marvel's OUTLAW KID, at least. RIO was undoubtedly the high-watermark of Wildey's career, so this is certainly noteworthy to me!

In IDW's Doug Wildey's Rio: The Complete Saga, this page is #23 of the first story. The chapter title is "Satan's Doorstep!" It's rather confusing as the pages are numbered for each story. The Table of Contents show overall page numbers, but these do not appear on the pages anywhere.

A really great page. Wildey was meant to do meant to do westerns and it is clear he loved and understood the genre.

Fabulous! His black and white is superb, and he did some really interesting stuff with subtle color, too.
