Karate Kid vs. Green Arrow (Connor Hawke) by Derec Donovan and Simon Gough

This is the first piece of art I ever commissioned and therefore it holds a special place in my heart. Back in the summer of 2009 I was thinking of starting a collection of commissions and I thought I'd like something Legion-themed but I wasn't sure. Derec Donovan posted on deviantart that he was taking commissions and since I loved his Connor Hawke: Dragon's Blood miniseries so much I figured I'd go for a matchup between Connor and the original Karate Kid, Val Armorr. I loved the piece so much that I decided to go for all Karate Kid pieces.

As for how I think this fight would go? Well, Connor is a bad man, and he has hung with Lady Shiva in a fight, at least for a little while, so I think he'd last a good ten seconds before Val knocks him out.

If you like this piece then please do go buy some books featuring Derec's work in either physical or digital format and/or go commission him yourself.
