Superboy by Frank Cho

Frank Cho is a major comic artist, getting his break on the Liberty Meadows comic strip. He was an attendee of the FallCon in 1999, and I tried then to get a Legion sketch from him then. He said he was booked, but would do a quick sketch for me, which I had him do in my other sketchbook.

When I found out he was at the 2001 FallCon, he was the main target to get a sketch from. I was only able to attend one day of the con, as I had to work that Sunday, ironically at another conference, the International Association of Chief's of Police Conference in Minneapolis. Frank was doing just quick sketches that year, and when I got up to him, he said he didn't really know anything about the Legion or any of the members. In haste, I asked him to do a Superboy for me. It turned out to be a funny piece, but part of me still wishes I had asked for a Supergirl. Frank IS best known for his full-figured women. And apes.
