Bouncing Boy by Terry Austin

MCBA has a good track record of getting a couple few creators from the golden or silver ages of comics. The 2005 FallCon was no exception, with Marshall Rogers, Joe Staton, and Austin. Austin has worked on a ton of different titles, a couple most famously being Batman and Uncanny X-men.

While waiting in line to get the sketch from Terry, I spoke with the lady ahead of me. When she asked me if I was going to get another Legion sketch, Terry said that he never liked the Legion. He remembered the Legion kicking Bizarro Comics out of Adventure Comics, and never saw the appeal of the teenage group. He went on to say he did kind of like Bouncing Boy, and Chameleon Boy was okay. When it was my turn, I asked if he would be willing to do a Legionnaire, and when he agreed, I asked for a Bouncing Boy.

When I picked up the book, he actually thanked me for letting him draw Bouncing Boy, and really enjoyed working on it. It's a great feeling when someone gets extra enjoyment out of doing a sketch for you.
