Light Lass by Allison Sohn

When I first review a guest list of an upcoming con, I look at each guest’s website and also Google them to determine if I like their art enough to warrant a sketch. While looking through the 2006 FallCon guest list, I came across Allison’s name and was impressed with the art. She made it onto my short “yes” list of people to request sketches from (my system is pretty complex: either yes, maybe, or no. It helps me with the sea of creators). It wasn’t until I got to the con that I realized that she was Adam Hughes’ partner/manager. I had met and talked with her at past conventions when getting sketches from Adam. I didn’t realize she had artistic talent as well.

She initially turned down my request to do a sketch. I talked with her a while, and finally she decided to take my book back to the hotel that night to do something during the off-time. I am so happy that she did, because this sketch of Light Lass is one of my most favorite of the book.
