Description

A beautiful page from the classic Savage Sword of Conan #30, from 1978.

On 6/28/18, Steve Leialoha revealed that he inked most of this story, and remarked about why his inking credit was left off the published book:

"The usual editorial slip ups, although it was Frank who asked me to ink this. Frank inked the first five pages then decided that was enough, so I inked the next 41 pages. I did my best to keep the transition smooth."

And, remarking on this page:

"I see I was trying my best Booth by way of Alcala texturing there."

This was far and away my favorite issue of SSoC and Brunner's art was a great part of the reason. And just look at that pterodactyl-like creature.

Stunning Savage Sword of Conan page! Beautifully composed and penciled by Frank Brunner and masterfully inked by Steve Leialoha! Love this scene with King Conan reluctantly agreeing to fly on some kind of tame pterodactyl.
