The chain was sold to the Merry Go Round chain in the early '90s and went out of business in 1995. Signed Boris 86 at the right bottom corner. I have not seen a Chess King in years, but I remember this painting! Very Nice!

I actually found a copy of the original ad on ebay awhile back.

My buddy and I got suckered into buying two ludicrous outfits at Chess King back in 1984, when the two girls working there, who both looked a lot like the woman in that sleigh, flirted with us and played on our vanity when we tried them on. We both looked like total fools. Worn once, thrown away. 60+ dollars each wasted. Lesson learned!
Nice painting, though.

Im 6'5, a sale girl had me try on a pair of high water Michael Jackson pants from the Beat it video. I looked ridiculous but she told me I looked great, lol. I didn't by them, lol
