Description

This is the cover to the Christmas-themed issue of SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN. Todd Nauck's career at Marvel was just kicking into gear, and this became his first of many Spider-Man books to work on. He has since become famous for illustrating the return of the black costume in FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, and of course the incredibly famous Barack Obama backup story in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #583. This was also the first of only two covers he did for SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN. I bought this directly from Todd, who I first met going to art school back in the early nineties. It remains one of my favorite pieces of original art in my collection, not just because of its significance to his career, but because he's always been a very good friend.
