Description

I was lucky enough to find Bernie Wrightson when he had some pages from his then current project, The Ghoul for deep discounts. This was practically the only one I could shoe horn into my theme. Berni Wrightson is probably the best practitioner of the classic EC style tradition. You can see the exquisite detail that is his trademark.

This is the first issue of the series and came out November 2009. It is part of the modern tradition of turning monsters into heroes, much more positive than the trend having monsters, human and otherwise triumph in doing genuine evil.

Art from this series is a cut above recent comic production by Wrightson - it looks like he's going back to his older style, and sometimes, to look back is a good idea. Central panel is shot from a great angle, and the whole page have a clear Frankenstein feeling to me, maybe for the very detailed inks. Another beautiful page in a great collection - congrats. Furthermore, I really like your descriptions.

Thank you, I also like the unusual perspective and the creative page set up. It's one full page panel with insets in sequence.

This is nothing short of fantastic... I love all the details and all the little Wrightson pieces with the scope of the page... I was lucky enough to acquire a couple of these pages, and recently the cover to the third. Very cool page and a great addition to your incredible collection! I'd go crazy if my interests spanned so many artists, not to mention broke!

Thanks, I'm far from broke, crazy is a matter of opinion.
