This kind of joke was an old standby for Mad magazine for years...what if ads were honest? This one by George Woodbridge had disclaimers like, the lady is really settled-down, the Burt Reynolds look-alike is gay and the exercise machine's guarantee is for the life of the company, which is just about to go out of business. George really did funny-looking people, when he had a mind to.
