I've been waiting for the opportunity to get this sketch for several years. The last time Los Bros Hernandez were in NY was back in 2004. I was able to get a Dreamer sketch by Gilbert, but missed Jaime. Fast forward to 2010, and Jaime was back in NY for the MoCCA Festival. I was there Saturday at noon by the Fantagraphics table right before Jaime was going to be doing a signing. There were only two people waiting. I got in line, and Jaime sat down. The first guy got a quick free head sketch, and the second guy bought a pre-drawn piece of Maggie & Hopey. So I was quickly able to ask Jaime to draw a Beautiful Dreamer for me. As he was sketching away in my book, I happened to glance behind me, and saw that a loooooong line had formed. For once I actually had good timing. Definitely a stroke of luck. I'm really glad I was able to get this one.
