DescriptionI just slay me!!! DC pitched this series as in 1991 as Monarch actually being one of the DC heroes in the future, who has become a world ruling dictator. Monarch was actually suppose to be Captain Atom from Charlton Comics. It was leaked out on the arpanet (this was 1991 now), and DC "chickened" out and made Hawk (Hank Hall, gotta have assonance to be a super hero) Monarch instead. Captain Atom doned the armor of Monarch in the Infinite Crisis spin off Battle for Bludhaven and Countdown to Final Crisis, so DC is now tried to "unchicken" out almost 15 years later (and half a decade after the real 2001). If you're bored, you can scan the internet and still find the original usernet messages that caused all the uproar in 1991.Social/Sharing |
