Description
(May 1941) (Lev Gleason Publications) For those who can appreciate comic book history and especially that of "Golden Age" comic book history, many will not discount the immense talent and great contributions that Jack Cole made to the industry. Even though it is surmised that a couple of Plastic Man pages exist from the latter 1940's, it is more likely that these are not by Jack Cole, but by one of his most talented of ghosts, Alex Kotsky. Up until this original "JACK COLE HAND-COLORED" Daredevil Vs. The Claw Title Splash surfaced, it was pretty much common knowledge that no Golden Age "Super-Hero" art existed by the late, great Jack Cole. The existence of this very example of comic art obviously proves this thought wrong. Just prior to Cole's departure from Lev Gleason to Quality Comics, he worked on "Only 3" Daredevil stories before Don Rico would ultimately take over the strip. This "Hand-Colored" Daredevil Vs. The Claw Title Splash is from Cole's final "Daredevil" story from Silver Streak Comics #10. This is Jack Cole's only example of Golden Age "Super-Hero" artwork known to exist, and as an added bonus it is "Hand-Colored" by Jack Cole as well. (Large-Art Sized)
