Description

I know it's not entirely cool to say so these days, but I loved the 1960's Batman TV series.

One of the most enjoyable villains in the show was King Tut, Victor Buono having a blast as the verbose, deliriously self-centred criminal who really believed he was the reincarnation of King Tutenkahmun. Also of note was Julie Newmar as Catwoman, sexy, sleek and as feline as you could hope for.

A shame then that we never saw them together, as they could have been an absolute blast! Tut lavishing overblown and overelaborate compliments to the living embodiment of Bast, the Egyptian Cat goddess, and Catwoman lapping up every word and purring with pleasure at the riches he showers her with, but waiting for the best moment to doublecross him, she IS a cat after all!

Alas, t'was never to be, but thanks to Sonny Strait, I can now imagine what it MIGHT have been like, and it would have been AWESOME!

And Robin as mummy-slave? Well, I'm sure if you had tuned in same Bat-time, same Bat-channel, it would have been just in time to see Batman rescue him from their clutches.

King Tut sure was a fun villain... and apparently mummies can be cute! Nice acquisition. :)

Loved the series and this piece. The idea of a Tut/Catwoman team-up would have been great. Too bad it never came to be....now if only they would release the T.V. series on DVD.

What can I say? Grew up loving the 1960s Batman show, and still do. Julie was ~ and always will be ~ the best Catwoman ever. (*although I still give cudos to Michelle's sexy version*) And "Big Vic" as King Tutt shall never be replaced. The artist amazingly captured both actors in their respective roles to perfection. Hey, and as an added bonus you also get Robin.. ;)
