Description

When Joe kindly created a Sgt. Rock sketch for me prior to Supanova Perth 2010, I was delighted but I mentioned to him that I was really hoping to frame the piece but couldn't do so because it would mean removing it from the front of his hardcover "The Art of Drawing from Life". He said that if he'd known that was what I wanted to do, he would have done it on a separate sheet of paper. So I thought I'd try my luck and asked Joe for a second sketch which I would collect from him when I visited him at his school in New Jersey after SDCC 2010. I subsequently visited and Joe brought out this amazingly finished piece featuring one of my fave characters associated with Joe, Enemy Ace. I was stunned and went to take out my wallet to pay for the piece when Joe said "Don't insult me" - I definitely didn't want to do that! Thanks Joe - you're truly a legend of the industry and a heck of a guy!
