Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why?
It would have to be the first piece of artwork I bought from a Sydney comic shop in 1987 - splash page/frontispiece from Deadly Hands of Kung Fu 32 featuring the first appearance of Daughters of the Dragon.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
Aussie collector of comics and original comic art who used to belong to the Yahoo Group Comicart-L. Joined CAF within the first few months of it opening up to collectors. Previously a Federal Government public servant but now retired from full-time work. I still have a part-time job as the comics creator guest manager for Australia's largest national comic con with 6 shows around the country each year.
How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
Since 1987 when I purchased my first piece of original comic art from a comic shop in Sydney. I was amazed that the originals could be purchased and when I saw the Marshall Rogers splash page from Deadly Hands of Kung Fu, I was smitten!
How do you display/store your collection at home?
Around 25 pieces are framed on the walls, however, most of the collection is stored in an antique wood flat-files chest of drawers. I believe it was formerly used by an architect and my wife and I restored it to a healthy state.
What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?
To be clear, these are pieces I never expect to obtain: 1. Dave Stevens Rocketeer page 2. Barry Windsor-Smith page from X-Men 205 (I know who has the whole story so this won't happen - lol) 3. John Byrne X-Men page 4. Alan Davis Excalibur page 5. Carlos Pacheco page from Avengers Forever
