Description
An unpublished page. Kirby drew Mangog too small, and rather than paste up the character, redrew the entire page for publication. This is the unused page as inked by George Ross (?) as a try out perhaps.

I used to own this amazing, amazing page (and am sad I no longer own it). Curious how you found out it's by Roussos. I spent quite a while researching it and my best efforts indicated that it's inked by someone who never again touched Kirby pencils.

Glen- A handwritten note attached to the page after I bought it from Heritage indicated that they suspected "George Ross" was a pen name for George Roussos. Seems visually consistent, but am open to more info.

To me, this doesn't look like anything George Roussos inked over Kirby a couple years earlier (as George Bell), but anything's possible. By the way... if your kid picks an expensive college, kindly drop me a line. I am deeply traumatized that I don't own this page (but visiting it here will be nice!).

For all I know there is an actual George Ross in the world that Marvel tossed this unused page at as a try out.

Awesome page! To me just a great bit of buried treasure with nice big panels and the purity of the art unencumbered by words.

That is pretty goddamned cool! The inks are pretty solid regardless of who did them.
