DescriptionThis piece, titled "L'Uomo delle Paludi" (The Man from the Marshes), was painted in 2008 and first published inside the very limited portfolio "Arrêt sur Image" by French editor Mosquito. Then, a couple years later, it was published in Italy as presentation page for a new edition of the eponymous story (originally released in 1978).Many thanks to Claudia for this cover quality illustration by the master! For my personal taste Toppi gives his very best as painter. Beautiful piece, excellent composition and absolutely wonderfull colors.

What an excellent piece - Toppi in color! His rendering of natives, if that's an acceptable term these days, is beautiful and respectful. PS - Your gallery is stellar. Nice to see a gallery of Italian comic and illustration art.
