At one point in time there was an announcement that Campbell had signed on (along with Jeph Loeb) for a 12 issue Spider-Man story. Not since McFarlane had I been so existed to see an artist tackle this character. I think Campbell was born to draw Spider-Man (and Black Cat).

This planned project was eventually cancelled after so much delays. Rumour is that 2 issues were completed in total. Though, I doubt we will ever get to see them in print. So, to be honest, this just might be the closest I'll ever come to owning a cover or splash with these two characters.

Additionally, when I first got onto Campbell's commission list, THIS was what I asked him for. These two characters swinging through the city. I was disheartened when it ended up in someone else's collection. After years of trying to get an updated commission from Campbell to replace this idea, he cancelled all commissions. To my luck, this piece popped up for sale! Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity. In a way, it feels like I finally did get my commission after all. Thanks, Cory.
