Description

Along with Rusty Riley, Rip Kirby and Ace McCoy, I consider Carol Day to be among the illustrative high points in the history of comic art. Even among the Carol Day strips, there are some that really stood out and this particular sequence has always left me amazed. Wright was a master at lighting and these two dailies are true masterpieces. Thanks to Simon for letting these go, they have gone to a good home.

About as good as it could be. I've looked at these strips a lot and they do not cease to impress me. This is trivial, but I just noticed the tail of the word balloon in panel 3 crossing the margin back to p.2-- I'm not sure i've seen that in Wright before. I may have to go hunting for other examples now.
