My wife is a big Agatha Christie/H. Poirot fan. I contacted Nike about doing a commission featuring Poirot and possibly the Orientt Express. We batted some ideas back and forth and this is what he came up with!!

Wonderful stuff, Matt!! Guessing that is pencil shading with the ink lines? Nice to see Kaluta's still "got it"! Congrats to you and Tina!

Thanks Mike. You are right it is pencil shading with ink lines. Also some red inks in there as well (although it is hard to see in the scan.

A very nice commission piece, Matt. Well done. I keep thinking Michael will slow down, but he's proven me wrong on any number of occasions. He's still my favorite artist, and a good friend to boot. Congrats on your acquisition. Can you tell me something about the piece itself. DId he find inspiration in something he's working on for publication? Or, did you say "Just draw me something with Poirot in it". best, bill
