Description
Another page from the first X-Men story I got off the stands after having read another kids collection of X-Men 137-143 and getting totally hooked in the 4th grade! Had to part with a much coveted page to get this, but sometimes, you gotta make a choice! (I won't say what just yet, don't wanna spoil someone else's Art Day Post!)

Some pages belong with certain collectors, and this is a great example of what's so cool about this nutty hobby (and the sacrifices we make to participate in it)! There's something undeniably and supremely cool about Cockrum X-men pages, Dave's Polaris just kicks it up ten notches, and a Lorna page from the start of your collecting era of the book makes it really special. I'm happy (and incredulous and grateful) that this worked out... congrats!

This is peak period of this series for me. I loved the stories that they were doing and Cockrum's art worked perfectly for it. Murderworld was one of my favorites from this time. Havok and Polaris look great and the panels flow well to tell the story. Great piece of art there.

During the run I heard many negative things about Dave's art .I over heard two guys in a Comics store saying : " Cuckrum wasn't doing a good job this time around " " I think the problem is the new inker,Rubinstein."

Congrads on this great Cockrum page. I just wish he had stayed on the book longer originally.
