DescriptionWith his nearly six-decade career, Ferdinando Tacconi (Milan, 1922-2006) was one of the undisputed masters of Italian comics. He also was an appreciated illustrator, cover artist and painter (just look at the Godfather painting in this same Gallery Room). He worked for many titles and many genres of comics but I think he was especially great at drawing war stories. And not by chance, since he fought and was even decorated in WWII! He also had a great passion for uniforms, combat aircrafts and military vehicles in general. This small page comes from a series titled "Il Barone Rosso" and perfectly shows Tacconi's mastery in depicting war scenes. (pen and ink on artboard, roughly 7"x 10") Click HERE to see all Tacconi's art in my Gallery (some nudity) Social/Sharing |
