Description

Darryl Banks. All I can say is WOW!!!

I commissioned Darryl to do this piece about a month after my beloved wife died from breast cancer. I asked him for something with the art piece "Sorrow" that was seen in issue 99 of GL vol. 3. I also said I wanted it to have a hopeful feel. The statue is representative of the grief that has been ever present in Kyle's life (mirroring my own grief) and yet, even in that grief there is Hope still in the room. Hope that somewhere, somehow all really will be well.

That is a beautiful memorial. I did something similiar in oils after my partner died. I took a piece of poetry they loved and created an image of balloons floating over the seas. What a magnificent tribute to your wife.I hope it continues to bring you hope Aidan
