DescriptionHospital Doctor, paperback cover painting, 1952. Oil on board 30" x 22". Julian Paul (American, 20th Century). Stereotypes, yes, but nurses can be so much fun! Edward Young, Pyramid Books Giant #G67 1952 : "A revealing novel of Nurses, Doctors, Strange Operations". Sounds promising but, really, I have been a hospital doctor myself since 1974 and never ever have I been in - or heard about - this situation. It makes a good cover though, as it plays on the common misbelief that this is what doctors and nurses spend their working hours doing. In reality, these things happen AFTER working hours.Social/Sharing |

He's going the long way to check that ingrown toe-nail! I lament the stranglehold that so called "ethical standards" has taken on the medical profession in the intervening sixty years since this cover was painted. Am I right??

Lars, with all the vintage nurse themed paperback covers that have surfaced over the past couple of years, most of them for only a few hundred dollars, why don't you give this piece the respect it deserves and write a brief description about why this particular nurse cover is special to you, particularly in light of the fact that it is worth much more than the average nurse themed cover?

I'm laughing at Drake's comment. All kidding aside, this is a most captivating cover. Love the colors and the painting style and the blonde is certainly easy on the eyes. Congrats!
