Description

If you can�t quite make out the title written in red on the bottom of the board, it reads: �CAPTAIN SATURN�S RETIREMENT FROM A CAREER OF OUTER SPACE ADVENTURES�.

As there isn�t anything even �remotely� similar to this scene in the issue itself, I think we can safely assume this is pure inspired wackiness direct from the noggin of Michael Allred.

Other details of note: 1) the gold watch falling from his left hand, 2) Frank (Madman) Einstein (just left of center) with the exclamation bolt on his back and 3) unless I�m mistaken, that�s Michael himself to the viewer�s extreme right with the �ALL RED� signature on his back.

I purchased this from the artist at a convention in Chicago in the summer of �93. To be more accurate I pleaded with him like a Dickensian waif until he kindly agreed to hold onto it for me until my next payday. It would be the first of several pieces that I would get from him in the coming years.
