Drew Hayes sketched this at a comic convention in 1997. This general pose must have been a favorite of his for that year, I've seen several others similar to this.. which is ok.. it's one of my favorite poses as well!

So was I. At the time I wasn't picking up as many comics as I was when PE was in full swing ( or as often ) so I wasn't up on current events. I bought a Wizard which had an article on comic greats who have passed away and was shocked when I saw that he had passed away. Shocked and deeply saddened. I think he felt like a personal friend to many of his fans, the way he opened up in his Starting Notes. I still miss the big guy..
