DescriptionCompare the art with the scan of the paperback itself up above!SIZE: 12 7/8 x 20 Oil on 1/16" Board This is the original painting which was published as the cover to the vintage paperback novel Satan Is A Woman by Gil Brewer in 1951, which happens to be Brewer's 1st novel. Due to the combination of great story title and fabulous image, this is my favorite Baryé Phillips cover. Phillips produced hundreds of vintage paperback covers throughout his career, yet originals appear to be as rare as hen's teeth on the open market. So for this specific one to have become available was extremely serendipitous. Social/Sharing |
