Description

I've been looking to add a Joker cover to my collection for quite some time and finally found one. I usually don't go for headshots when buying cover art but with the Joker, it's all about the smile.

The stitches at the corner of the mouth just takes it over the top. Super scary and super creepy. Tony Daniel did a nice job in combining the classic comic book version with the late Heath Ledger's portrayal in the Dark Knight movie. It's amazing to see Tony's artistic growth over the years as he continues to experiment. The image is courtesy of Tony until I fix my scanner.

A bit of history about this piece. The page was originally intended to be the "reveal page" from issue 676 written by Grant Morrison. While the art wasn't used in that issue, DC was smart enough to publish this as the variant cover for issue 682.

One of the creepiest Joker covers ever to grace a monthly book, especially that left eye (or is it his right eye) completely encompassed by the darkness that no doubt shrouds the Joker's mind. Congrats on finally getting your long sought after Joker cover!

This is what the Joker is suppose to look like. Creepy. Sinister. Psychotic. And yet funny. Tony Daniel's Joker is simply the best.
