DescriptionFor some reason this short story in Hellboy Junior really resonated with me. I think Mignola's artwork is at or near its peak around this time. Definitely relate to Bill Wray's demented sense of humor, and I think Mike has an underrated sense of humor as well. But it always comes back to that first panel. Mike's laboratory scenes and his depiction of sea creatures blow me away. Plus you've got tentacles, lightning, and some trademark drips. As always Mignola's use of shadow is exceptional. Love this page so much and never dreamed of actually owning it. Thanks to Neil for finally parting with it -- good karma to you, sir!Social/Sharing |

Glad to see this page brings you so much joy, Brent! And I agree that Mike has an underrated sense of humor. I find his stories rife with intentional comedy (mostly coal black) that makes the whole thing that much more fun to not only look at but also read.
