Alex Toth - Heart Divided Splash

To say the least, Alex Toth set the "standard" at Standard comics when he left DC and went there in the 1950's. Toth's approach to story telling and his art style became the "house style" there, and that can be seen by several of the other entries in the gallery including the stories by Peppe and Colletta. The story was only 3 pages, but very effective with a great splash by Toth and Peppe showcasing his incredible sense of design with the dramatic first panel. The page is also interesting in that it had notes from Toth to Peppe. The story first appeared in Thrilling Romance 22 and was later reprinted by Eclipse (in 1986) in True Love #1... which had a nice Dave Stevens cover.
