Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Superman by Chris Samnee and Simon Gough

Chris Samnee is one of the many artists who I follow online. When he posted this on his blog, I knew that I had to have it. It's a fun drawing, and the close-up of the Legion ring is awesome. I love how Lois is all defiant as if she has done nothing wrong, and Jimmy is a bit ashamed and embarrassed. Lots of other details in this piece make it great such as Jimmy dragging his foot and the wrinkles in Superman's boots. Anyway, I checked Chris's online store every day until I saw this one for sale and then I snatched it up.

This is one of the most inspired pieces that I've seen Chris post on his blog in a long time, which is truly saying something in light of his keen artistic acumen. You can tell that he had this image percolating through his imagination for quite some time. The implied narrative is fantastic. You scored big time, Travis!
