Description

BRIAN JONES RULES!

So, this description had to start out like that because I wouldn't have this piece if it wasn't for the awesomeness of Mr. Jones and his willingness to get a piece for me at the Pittsburgh show. The people I've met and the friendships I've made in this hobby rivals the actual art I get. Those are the two main things I love about this hobby.

Scott McDaniel and George Perez are to me, the two essential and greatest Nightwing artists ever. While I do have a sketch cover with a Nightwing Skrull by Scott, it's so incredible to have a Spider-Man and Nightwing piece by him in my collection. This is what apparently passes for a convention sketch from Scott, and I couldn't be happier. Brian may be a little biased, but he's right when he said this was probably Scott's best of the weekend. Scott has such an energy in his pencils that sometimes you almost feel like you're going to run out of breath when you read his action scenes, and the only other artist I've ever felt that way with was John Romita Jr.

Definitely going to have to get this inked. Have a couple guys in mind, just indecisive.

Thanks again to Brian, you rock! And thanks to Scott for putting such heart into this piece.

Hey that Brian guy sounds ok! ;) Scott McDaniel is one of the nicest guys you could hope to meet at a show...he had fun drawing this and said he played with the buildings and their poses so you could rotate the piece to put either on top...although Scott said Spidey makes more sense to have swinging upside down. So glad I could help a fellow McDaniel fan out. Enjoy!

I was there with Brian when he picked this up...and our simultaneous *gasps* when Mr. McDaniel pulled it out for us to see nearly sucked the air out of the whole Con Hall! Fantastic pickup, Jerry--you have some great friends, indeed!!! :D
