Description

Between his Evil Dead movies and his Spider-Man blockbusters, Sam Raimi produced a superhero series for FOX Television called M.A.N.T.I.S..

The show's main character, Dr. Miles Hawkins (played by Carl Lumbly), was a paraplegic scientist who invented an exoskeleton that not only restored his ability to walk, but also gave him superhuman strength. Comics artist Denys Cowan designed the M.A.N.T.I.S. (Mechanically Augmented Neuro-Transmitter Interception System) costume.

I've long wanted to pair the M.A.N.T.I.S. with the better-known, similarly named barefoot Avenger in a Common Elements scenario. The talented and dependable Darryl Banks made it happen.

Seriously -- THREE GEMS in ONE DAY -- plus a play on words...double darn you Mr. Rankins!!!! Great, great piece and stellar choice of characters in all three pieces....wow
