Description

This fine piece by the underrated artist Michael Dooney used my colorized version of Sherry the Showgirl as the reference. It is of a nightclub performer singing in a spotlight. The original has the full spotlight circle behind "Sherry" but, for some reason, it doesn't scan. It took some ingenuity for me to reproduce the arcs that you see. There are so many details on this piece to like, his idea of casting a shadow behind the figure, the detail of the costume, the position and the hands. If you look closely, you'll see that the dress is cleverly made to be extremely shear, at least below the waist. Another treasure from an underappreciated master of pin up art.
