Description

Original hand-drawn (penciled and inked) art for the October 10, 1963 (10/10/63) daily strip of Buck Rogers, with artwork by legendary Marvel and DC Comics artist George Tuska. The strip is in very good condition, and still has the 1963 Nat'l Newsp. Syndicate Inc. copyright piece attached between the second and third panel. The full page is large, measuring approximately 19 1/4" by 6 1/2" (which is standard size for most newspaper strip orig art). This is a great piece of original artwork from the long-running series that lasted almost 40 years, from 1929 through 1967. Buck Rogers was the first major character developed for a sci-fi comic strip, and Flash Gordon and Brick Bradford are among the many comic strip characters directly inspired by Buck. As one of the foremost science-fiction-based adventure strips, no comic art collection is complete without a Buck Rogers example. The piece has been signed near the top of the last panel by George Tuska, one of the great legends of all-time, who is well-known for classic work on Iron Man, Avengers, Superman, and so many other characters and titles from the Golden Age and Silver Age all the way through to the Modern Age. Don't miss a rare chance at a great piece, that would look fantastic framed, and would be a great addition to any collection.
