Description

This commission was inspired by one of my favorite scenes from “The Wake”. The new Sandman, Daniel, met with the 3 Guardians of the Gate – a griffin, a winged horse and a dragon. This astonished the hippogriff as the previous Lord of the Dreaming, while often pleasant, had not touched him in his thousands of years of service (see extra image from Page 8 of "Sandman" No. 72). This is my second piece from Niall and definitely will not be the last! (Toronto Comic Arts Festival, 2010/05)
