DescriptionThis wonderful hand-drawn postcard, dated October 3, 1908, was penned by Randall Thoms, a cartoonist who had done some work at the San Francisco Call. Thoms was a friend of Raymond Crawford Ewer, and worked with Ewer at the S.F. Call. In October 1904, the 20 year old Ewer moved from San Francisco to New York City, where Thoms was already residing. This postcard depicts the events of Ewer's arrival to NYC, with Thoms meeting him at the depot, and showing him around. The reverse side of the card is addressed and written to the men of the Art Department at the San Francisco Call, telling his friend's of "Cupe's" (Ewer's nickname) safe arrival.
