Celebration!

This is the 2nd Print Variant Cover artwork for ACTION COMICS #900 (June 2011), the super-sized anniversary issue celebrating 73 years of Superman! This sensational cover was painted by the incomparable Rodolfo Migliari.

In this controversial issue (which made newspaper headlines and was featured in TV newscasts worldwide), Superman renounced his U.S. Citizenship in a 9-page story called "The Incident".

I love it .I agree the cape is great . This is going to come out all wrong but the cape background and the pose with the raised legs reminded me of the classic Marilyn Monroe pose on red satin...I know it sounds weird but it actually adds to the awesomeness...Delete if necessary ..but its a great cover

One of the best images of Superman I have seen in years, and I love those "George Reeves" legs, in fact, I believe the artist has channeled the original TV actor as inspiration !!!!

I can't believe how great this cover is! It looks like it belongs in a museum. Thank you so much for sharing it. If you ever get tired of it, I have a place reserved in my collection where it would fit perfectly. :)
