The Brain is also published as the album cover for Nazareth's "Expect No Mercy". This is by far my uber-favorite Frazetta piece of all time. I envy you like no other...congrats!!

Fantastic acquisition, Jim! I always loved the textures in this oil. Also, the design is compositionally perfect. A big, hearty congratulations! DAVE

Jim, I also saw this one in the Frazetta museum. I thought it was amazing. Yet, Ellie (at that time) told me that Frank was displeased with the painting because the way the demon's arms were behind the horns on it's head. Frank felt it didn't seem feasible for the demon to swing the sword down in the intended arc that the painting displayed was the intention. Frank wanted to correct it; but was on a deadline with Warren and just left it as it was. Now that I pointed that out, if you're upset with this cover, kindly call me and I'll take it off your hands!

I never tire of this image. It screams "Frazetta" yet it's unlike any of his other paintings in several ways. Can't get over the range and depth of your collection...
