DescriptionCreated just a few months after Daredevil's debut, here is Wally Wood's first published Daredevil pin-up from the first Daredevil issue he worked on, and, I believe, the only twice-up full-page published image Wood ever drew of Daredevil without other characters. It's also the first and only Silver Age pin-up of Daredevil in the yellow costume.Jack Kirby is often credited with the layout and/or the pencils for the background buildings. I'm unsure whether it's also Wally Wood's first Marvel Masterwork Pin-up. If you happen to know, please DM me via CAF, or email Jim@HA.com Social/Sharing |

Wow! I'm sure Bill appreciates you providing the New Year's Eve fireworks for CAF. Was wondering where this ended up. Makes sense that it now resides in your personal museum with all the other historical treasures.

Very cool as Wood uses the circus tightrope walker with grace and balance of the human figure to draw this pin up!

Gorgeous! And a piece of history, of course. That background does look Kirbyesque...

Wow again !! Those Marvel masterworks pin-ups are the very best to own !! Better than a cover, better than any page ! And this ONE is particulatly awesome !!
Wally Wood tells us to look up so we may see some costumed dude walking on a rope up ahead, angle is perfect and it makes me think we all look at your unearthly collection the same way we look at DD on this pin-up..looking far far up ahead from down below ..
Congratulations and thanks for sharing such a treasure !

The beauty of those clean inked lines and contours is something to behold. And those are indisputably Kirby-drawn buildings in the background.

Beauty! The good old days when the characters action matched the character's name.

Hmmm...you don't normally focus on super special, one-of-a-kind and historic pieces in your collection. Way to break the mold by adding this absolute beauty to your collection, Jim! ;)

Incredibly cool! DD with the graceful stance of a ballet dancer... Only Wally Wood could pull out that trick!
